WIRE CHASE
The first picture of February's basement renovation pictures.

SOMEBODY LOVED DUCT TAPE
Why do a quality job when you can do something that will hold for a few years? Plus the ceiling needed more patching work. I hate ceiling work.

VIEW FROM LAUNDRY ROOM
That stair looks pretty nice all clean and painted fresh and such.

BATHROOM BLOCK WINDOW
I'm surprised it made it out so well. Don't feel like puddying and sanding? Caulk doesn't work so poorly. A little more expensive, but much easier on the labor.

OVERALL VIEW
The paint is looking nice.

RETURN AIR DUCT
That foam and caulk worked really well to make a smooth wall look.

BEAM
There used to be an ugly plaster and drywall mess between the beam and the duct. I put in some new framing, and added masonite.

SUPPLY DUCT
Look at that! Really clean and smooth with the paint on there. One of the better jobs I did.

OTHER END
Other end of the return duct new cover. Custom cut masonite.

WIRE RACEWAY

CEILING
It's been paintd. Looking not horrible. I had visions of it looking better, but having gone through what I did, I'm happy enough with it.

MORE CEILING
I guess I was going for the artistic shot here.

HMMM...
I knew there was going to be a refridgerator and microwave in the project the whole time. And I put in the outlet for the microwave before the framing. I guess I forgot about the lower outlet.

OLD PIPE WRAP
Coming down. Get that stuff out of there. There were two layers in some places. A thin layer of fiberglass with the outer craft faced pink fiberglass.

DUST IS IN THE AIR
The wrap is bagged up, and who knows what is floating in the air.

CLEAN PIPES

BATHROOM
No more green bathroom.

MORE CLEAN PIPES

BUILT-IN LUMBER
All the lumber for the bar and slot machine stand, along with the door trim. This is my first furniture project that I actually estimated exactly what I needed to complete the project.

WOOD'S GETTING SMALLER
And building process really just involves making bigger pieces of wood smaller.

MORE SMALL WOOD
Most of the pieces were first cut out, then assembled. A radical process that allowed me to skip my usuall multi-month furniture timeline and trim it to under a week.

ALL CLAMPS ON DECK
It's amazing how many clamps you don't have.

LOTS OF WOOD

THE FIRST PIECE
The face of the bar that will be towards the game area. I built the bar in pieces since the shop and project site were a scant 8 feet distant.

ASSEMBLY
It's a good thing that I built the bar in pieces. Something didn't quite get built square enough. I blame the framing crew.
