SEATBELTS AND THE FUCKING GOVERNMENT

Riddle me this law enforcers and law makers? Why do I have to wear a seatbelt? Why? Why why why?

Hmm?

Oh, they save lives? Ah, yes of course seatbelt save lives. I forgot.

I can very quickly think of two things that also save lives:

Not smoking and not drinking.

Hey, there's three things that are in common.

Apples, oranges, and bananas are three things that share the common bond of being fruit. Ohh, I've got another. Oak, Maple, and Elm. All trees! What a terrifically fun game.

Wait a minute. Come to think of it I can think of a way that seatbelt, not smoking, and not drinking are not in common. The government only FORCES people do one of those things.

Why is it in this land of freedom and personal choice that I HAVE to wear a seatbelt when I drive a car. I'm only hurting myself if I choose not to wear one. I'm not putting anyone else in danger with my choice. Why is this? If the government is so concerned with keeping us safe then why don't they outlaw cigarettes or pass out free bike helmets to all children?

Why is it that I can't choose whether or not to wear a seatbelt, but 12 year olds can crank out as many kids as they want?

Why do I have wear a seatbelt, but I've got to choke on somebody's else's cigarette smoke just about everywhere I go?

The government is so concerned with me wearing a seatbelt, but so many junior high schools don't have enough textbooks for students to take home?

I'm forced to wear a seatbelt, but kids can be physically, mentally, and sexually abused to almost no end, but no one really seems to care?

Raped by your father or uncle from the ages of 7 to 12? That's ok little girl, you deal with that on your own, because we at the government are to busy passing laws to make people wear seatbelts. And good luck dealing with mountainous heap of trauma you'll carry with you for the rest of your life.

Seatbelt laws are just some other thinly veiled bullshit excuse to write more tickets so the cops can continue to keep us safe from ourselves.
